RESEARCH & BACKGROUND
Rumyana is an Associate Professor at Brunel University London. She received her PhD from Imperial College London, where she was also a fellow and research associate.
Her research builds on concurrency theory and type systems to develop practical verification techniques for distributed systems. Her PhD explored session types and their use in runtime verification of concurrent and distributed software.
She combines type systems, formal methods, model checking, compilation and code generation to prevent communication faults, including deadlocks and communication mismatches, improve reliability and performance, and support software development and understanding.
