Giuseppe is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University College London, part of the Financial Computing & Analytics group and Co-Head of SmartBridgeLab.
He is Programme Director of the Emerging Digital Technologies MSc.
Agentic AI for software engineering is a central focus of his research. He studies how AI agents use reusable skills, coordinate with one another and contribute to software development, and how these systems can support software quality, developer productivity and organisational practice.
His work builds on empirical software engineering, mining software repositories and large language models. He treats software projects as complex socio-technical systems, studying how technical, human and socio-economic factors interact through data mining, machine learning and time series analysis.
His work combines the analysis of source-code metrics and patterns with developer communication and human factors. It supports improvements in productivity, software quality and the developer experience, and has led to collaborations with technology companies.
